Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED. One year full time clerical/filing experience in a group medical office. Proficient typing skills and computer literacy. The Clerk should be able to lift charts (40 lbs) on a consistent basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, EMR/Medflow, and IDX. Bilingual Spanish.

Brief Description of Duties:
  • Chart Preparation: Filing medical paperwork. Each chart needs paperwork for the exam and insurance information added to the paperwork to prepare for the visit. 
  • Phones: Answer phones, take messages, book patient appointments.

Other Duties: As assigned, to include on a rotating basis, checking in and checking out patients at the front desk, and obtaining authorization/referrals for appointments.  

Special Notes: This is a full time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Night and weekend work is required.

The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation.
