Required Qualifications: High-School Diploma/GED. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible and related, full time experience with the ability to work independently. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Excellent typing, proofreading and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree. Knowledge of physician scheduling software.

Brief Description of Duties: The Senior Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the following:
  • Provide direct administrative support to the Chair of the department: Support all aspects of academic, clinical and research endeavors. Maintain calendar, arrange travel for conferences and meetings, reimbursements. Represent chair to hospital administration, local and national agencies, department personnel, referring physicians and other third party affiliations.
  • Record and transcribe meeting minutes for faculty meeting (as assigned).
  • Record and transcribe meeting minutes for QA meeting (as assigned).
  • Compile and prepare weekly physician work schedule, nighthawk schedule.
  • Compile and prepare Annual 5–8 Call schedules for physicians.
  • Monitor and track physician time off including holiday, conference, sick, comp and vacation time. Coordinate with attending secretaries. Assist radiologist with individual time and attendance.
  • Update departmental telephone lists, order pagers and cellphones for attendants.
  • Pick up and distribute physician paychecks.
  • Act as Tumor Board Coordinator.
  • Coordinate and administer fourth year electives.
  • Secretarial support to the Interventional and Musculoskeletal Divisions including work schedules.
  • Prepare Interventional consult letters, IR Schedule.
  • Assist with other related duties/projects to meet departmental goals and objectives: Direct office support. Assist with answering telephone calls, order refreshments when applicable.

Other Duties: As assigned.

Special Notes: This is a full time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
