In lieu of degree, a combination of education and/or directly related healthcare experience totaling four years will be considered. Two years of full time simulation or related training experience. Ability to solve problems by formulating solutions and ability to provide customer service. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. Work requires heavy physical lifting or equipment and management utilization of advanced medical devices.
Preferred Qualifications: Employment experience in the operation and maintenance of medical simulation equipment. Experience in an academic/training environment. Medical training or experience in a health care related field. Experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computer hardware and software. Knowledge of audio/video (AV) equipment and software for recording, duplication, mixing and editing. Experience in video production (e.g. filming, editing, and transcoding).
Brief Description of Duties: The Simulation Technician will be responsible for the set up, maintenance, repair, and operation of all high fidelity mannequins and partial task trainers housed in the Clinical Skills Center (CSC) and the Surgical Skills Center. The Simulation Technician is vital in the delivery of quality educational experiences to students, faculty, and staff. The incumbent will support the faculty and staff of the CSC with the technical aspects of medical simulation.
Special Notes: This is a full time appointment, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Some night and weekend work is required for student training and/or conducting clinical assessments.
