Required Qualifications: Per Civil Service Standards and Specifications. Must have taken and passed required Civil Service examination and be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service list. Transfers are encouraged to apply:You must have one year of permanent state service in a qualifying salary grade 7 or grade 9 title and must have been appointed from an appropriate Civil Service list. Candidates in salary grade 7 or grade 9 titles who have not previously passed a typing performance test will be required to do so. You will not be required to take the Keyboard Specialist 2 exam.
Preferred Qualifications:

Brief Description of Duties: The Keyboard Specialist's primary focus will be assisting with help desk calls and entering supplier info into ERP Systems.
  • Assist Training Manager with Wolfmart help desk calls. Assist and educate vendors on how to update their information in the SFS Vendor Self Service Portal. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Monitor vendor request file on a daily basis. Add new vendors to the Oracle system and the State Financial System including re-activating, merging suppliers following the Research Supplier File Naming Standards. Update the Oracle system with the SFS number and ensure synchronization and distribution in the Wolfmart System is complete.
  • Type State and Research requisitions on the Wolfmart System and the SUNY Web System when required. Type Stony Brook Foundation Requisitions on the SBF System. Assist in printing IDL’s and distributing as necessary. Assist with processing additions to Locations file in the Oracle System and add onto the Excel spreadsheet.
  • Assist in the distribution of departmental mail. Open and sort all correspondence and keep abreast of incoming invoices that need PO numbers in order to be paid.

Other Duties: As assigned.

Special Notes: This is a full time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Mandatory rehire roster candidates have preference.
