Required Qualifications: A minimum completion of two higher education courses pertaining to one of the following areas: Accounting, Business, Finance, or Economics. Three years of progressively responsible full time experience in an office setting. Must have analytical experience, accuracy with figures, and good organizational skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel and Word).
Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree. Experience with high volume data entry and record keeping. Experience with daily transactions to general ledger. Experience with researching problems and resolving issues. Knowledge of Not-For-Profit practices and guidelines.
Brief Description of Duties: The Clerical Specialist I will provide support for cash receipts, process data entry transactions for a high volume business office of the Stony Brook Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation established in 1965 as the University’s sole repository for philanthropic contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other organizations in support of Stony Brook University.

Special Notes: This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours a week, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA non-exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
