Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a field requiring rigorous analytical skills with five years’ experience in a healthcare or health related services field. Baccalaureate in nursing with 5+ years relevant experience in data analysis and management is acceptable. Must be adept in the retrieval, analysis and presentation of healthcare data in support of performance improvement efforts and administrative efforts. Must possess the ability to analyze large databases and utilize appropriate software to conduct analysis.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a field requiring rigorous analytical skills. A demonstrated knowledge of centralized healthcare databases, hospital public reporting requirements, and decision support tools, statistical process control and proficiency utilizing SAS or SPSS.

Brief Description of Duties:
  • Directly supervise DSS staff to abstract, manage and display data for performance improvement initiatives. Conduct performance evaluations on time and ensure that staff is compliant with annual physical exams and recertification/orientation.
  • Communicate and work with physicians, clinical and administrative staff in analyzing and acting upon data.
  • Retrieve data from large databases to generate relevant scorecards for clinical services and departments to report clinical, operational, administrative, financial, and service outcomes.
  • Generate ad hoc reports from available databases for focused performance improvement studies.
  • Defines the business and functional requirements of the decision support data warehouse in accordance with strategic goals. Leads the functional effort of data warehouse implementation.
  • Contributes to the overall leadership of the enterprise information to ensure resources and priorities are coordinated.
  • Develops enterprise-wide policies and procedures as they relate to data mining and warehouse.
  • Oversees and orchestrates all data submission to external regulatory and benchmarking organizations.
  • Lead collaboration with clinical services, IT, and Clinical Transformation to enhance data capture at the point of care, to maximize the number of required fields for public reporting that can be captured electronically.
