Required Qualifications: High School diploma/GED. Four years full time experience working as an Ophthalmic Technician.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a large group practice, course work in health field or similar technician training. Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) and current Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). Bilingual Spanish.
Brief Description of Duties: The Senior Patient Care Specialist supports the Department and the physician by being the first line of contact that the patient has in the examination room.
Special Notes: This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. *This position is located at Tech Park, East Setauket.
