Required Qualifications: Associates degree in computer related field. Three to five years' experience in IT support, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented and must have strong analytical and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer related field, project management experience, and previous experience working in a Health Care facility. Advance IT Certifications such as MCITP, MCSA, and MCSE.

Brief Description of Duties:
  • Install, repair, service, and PM hospital IT hardware and software in the UHMC Domain, PCs, printers, peripherals, servers, OS, and network applications.
  • Assess clinic and clients' technical requirements and needs for projects and go-live events.
  • Diagnose issues with OS, security configurations, and hardware configurations.
  • Works with fellow technicians, help desk personnel and end users as needed to resolve issues and tasks assigned.
  • Participation in IT Projects and provides knowledge transfer and status updates to team and management.
  • Provide updates to management and technical guidance to and documentation to coworkers.
  • Provide insight and testing on new hardware and software that the organization may use in the future.

Special Notes: Shift: Full-time Day Position 830am-5pm, pass days are Saturday and Sunday. Please note Stony Brook Medicine is a smoke free environment. All Hospital positions are subject to changes in pass days and shifts as necessary. This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair.
