Required Qualifications: BS or BA. College level courses in Ecology. Requires a minimum of specialized skills or work experience with Plant Ecology research.  
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with the methodology used for ecological research.

Brief Description of Duties: The Project Aide will assist with lab and local field data collection for a research project examining an emergent invasive species, Centaurea Stoebe, in New York State.
  • Assist with local field collection of invasive plants. May involve labeling or measurement of plant species or data collection on habitat parameters (moisture, temperature, GPS coordinates, etc.).
  • Data entry of samples or measurements taken in either the lab or the field using computer spreadsheets.
  • Routine greenhouse work, including propagation and care of plants.
  • Routine cleaning, organizing and maintenance of field and lab equipment.

Special Notes: This is a part time, hourly position, 35 hours per week, days and hours vary. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
