Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related biological sciences, certification in MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) or clinical BloodBiank specialty. Must hold or be eligible for New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license. Five full time years of clinical experience in Blood Bank and 3 years teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in clinical laboratory sciences or related biomedical science with 6 years of clinical experience in Blood Bank and 5 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Knowledge of current NAACLS accreditation and involvement in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences profession.
Responsibilities & Requirements: Good organization skills, excellent oral and written communication skills to teach, conduct and manage learning experiences in Blood Bank (lecture and laboratory), Quality Management and related CLS courses. Other responsibilities include student advising, student recruitment, mentoring student research, involvement in scholarly activities, research, grant writing, publications, service to university and community.
Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position with a possibility of movement to tenure track line. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Candidates selected to interview will be required to do a 10 -15 min. presentation on the topic of their choice.
