Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Five years experience with Radiology Department systems and processes. Knowledge and experience with Centricity RIS-IC, Centricity PACS-IW and lifeImage. Detailed understanding of Radiology physician, resident and technologist work flows. Proficient in MS Office products. Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to work well in a team environment; customer service and vendor management skills. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree with a minimum of ten years experience as stated above.
Preferred Qualifications: Back-end support experience with the SBUMC Radiology systems. PC support experience.

Brief Description of Duties:
  • Service and maintain daily operation of the Radiology Department's RIS system, voice recognition system, mammography systems, and the PACS, and other Radiology/Cardiology systems as required.
  • Maintain data integrity across all Radiology/Cardiology systems, includes but not limited to updating patient's information in PACS system, deleting duplicate medical records, handling exceptions.
  • Participate in system upgrades and implementations.
  • Install and support Radiology workstation hardware e and software. Includes installing and configuring computers, additional hardware peripherals, software applications and diagnosing and rectifying hardware problems.
  • Work with management and Finance to ensure hospital charges are developed and maintained accurately on the system.
  • Participate in Information Technology unit and integration testing events.
  • Provide Radiology application software training and support, resourceful solutions to technical problems and weekly status reports. Provide timely and courteous technical support to end users.
  • Provide oncall/recall support as required by management. Follow IT and Departmental processes and procedures.

Special Notes: Shift: Full-time day position, 830am-5pm. All Hospital positions are subject to changes in pass days and shifts as necessary. This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair. Please note Stony Brook Medicine is a smoke free environment.
