Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED. Two years of full time, secretarial/clerical medical office experience. Strong customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional years of medical office experience. Obstetrics and Gynecology outpatient medical office experience. Familiarity with IDX automated appointment scheduling system. Bilingual Spanish.

Brief Description of Duties: The Clerk will pull charts for scheduled patients, organize and input all information into medical records files and refile/route medical records.
  • Appointment scheduling on IDX scheduling system.
  • Answer light volume phones in a professional manner and take complete and appropriate messages.
  • Greet patients and enter lab work into SMS or lab computer accurately.
  • Coordinate and file patient paperwork and prepare charts for following days office hours.

Other Duties: As assigned.

Special Notes: These are full time positions, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. *Satellite location (Bohemia and Setauket, NY). Travel to off-site locations will be required.
