Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Experience in statistics and biostatistics.
Preferred Qualifications: In depth knowledge of statistics and technical capability to coordinate or perform systems related tasks. Working knowledge of a scientific procedure oriented programming language. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of statistical packages (SAS, SPSS, or Stata) in UNIX environment. Familiarity with database management systems.

Brief Description of Duties: Assists in proposal preparation, creation and management of databases, performance of statistical analyses and model development, interpretation and presentation of results, preparation of reports, and direction and supervision of professional and support staff. Ability to communicate effectively. Assists in the responsibilities for research, selection and implementation of statistical methodologies, as assigned.

Assists in the research, selection, and implementation of statistical methods for assigned projects.
Creates relational database structures and troubleshoots problems during primary data collection.
Performs specialized statistical analyses, as needed for projects. Provides specialized reports for investigators; presents results at project meetings and for publication.
Prepares raw data for analysis; performs linkages of various data sets, and prepares documentation. Develops analysis files for own projects and for other analysts.
Participates in developing and writing manuscripts based on own work and contributes to the preparation of grant proposals by writing parts of the methodologies section.
Performs validity checks on data, ensures accuracy and completeness of programs written by self and other team members, and checks reports for accuracy and completeness.

Special Notes: This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Occasional travel may be required.
