Required Qualifications: BS/BA Degree in Information Technology or associated field. Must have a minimum of five years working experience and expert knowledge in each of the following areas: Information Security specific to the protection of health information; Active Directory administration; Role Based Systems access/account provisioning to include account creation, modification and removal; HIPAA Security Rule standards/requirements (administrative, physical and technical safeguards; business continuity and disaster recovery). Information Security auditing and assessments.
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of systems and applications including but not limited to P2Sentinal, SecureLink, FTK Computer Forensics, Cerner (Electronic Health Record), Eclipsys, Siemens, PACS, PeopleSoft. Oracle/SQL Database administration/programming. CISA, CISM, CISSP or other equivalent information security certification. Previous experience in health care IT/IS.

Brief Description of Duties:
  • Review systems access requests for appropriateness.
  • Systems Access/Account Provisioning to include creation, modification and removal.
  • Review existing application system to determine appropriateness of user access levels.
  • Perform, review and report on systems audits.
  • Participate in the conduct of the annual HIPAA Risk Assessment.
  • Facilitate the use of SecureLink for Vendor Systems Access.
  • Maintain and support all the existing Oracle and MS SQL Server databases related to Information Security access control and monitoring.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Special Notes: Shift: Full-time day position, 8am-430pm, pass days are Saturday and Sunday. Please note Stony Brook University Medical Center is a smoke free environment. All Hospital positions are subject to changes in pass days and shifts as necessary. This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair.
