Required Qualifications: PhD in Business, Economics, or a commensurate degree in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with dynamic pricing, electricity market design/regulation, or electrical grid systems.
Responsibilities & Requirements: During the next three years, the SET cluster will recruit faculty at all levels whose research interests span a range of topics related to smart energy technologies: business and economics aspects of grid systems; consumer, commercial, and industrial energy user technologies; green computing; grid cyber-security; power engineering; energy efficient electronics and opto-electronics, smart grid networking; smart energy generation and distribution; smart energy management and control systems; and smart energy modeling and simulation. Academic appointments for cluster faculty will be based on their areas of research, may span the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the College of Business, and may include one or more of the following departments: Applied Math & Statistics, Business, Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Technology & Society, as well as BNL. Currently we seek two tenure-track faculty members to begin in Fall 2013. Exceptionally qualified junior or senior candidates in all areas of Smart Energy Technologies (SET) are invited to apply. The successful candidates would join other engineers, computer scientists, applied mathematicians, and economists in creating new knowledge for effective smart grid management and security.
