Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED. One year of full time related work experience in an office setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual Spanish. Experience working with ICD9/CPT codes and medical terminology.
Brief Description of Duties: The Clerk will obtain verification of insurance for all patients for the Department of Pediatrics via telephone and website contact and will take telephone appointments for patients as needed.
Other Duties: As assigned.
Special Notes: This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, days and hours vary. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA non-exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Some night and weekend work may be required. *This position is located at the Satellite Office in Saint James. Some travel may be required to Stony Brook University-Medical Center and/or the Health Sciences center as necessary.
