Required Qualifications: Associates Degree. In lieu of degree, two years of progressively responsible full-time experience in an education and/or advocacy setting. Four years of full-time experience working in a medical or advocacy setting with direct patient/client contact to educate, counsel or advocate for patients/clients. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and strong organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data entry. Ability to prioritize and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional experience engaging participants and motivating participation. Familiarity with the consenting process and HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of electronic scheduling. Familiarity with World Trade Center Health Program benefits.
Brief Description of Duties: The Retention Specialist/Member Advocate reports to the Outreach/Retention Manager and is primarily responsible for:
Other Duties: As assigned, including providing back-up scheduling support, scheduling members using IDX, sending all paperwork to the patients prior to their scheduled visits.
Special Notes: These are full time positions, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. *One position is located in Islandia, NY and one is located in Mineola, NY.
