Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing or completion of a course for Nurse Practitioner and certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Three years of full time work experience in General Internal Medicine at a large multi-specialty clinic or hospital. Registered Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications: Two additional years of oncology clinical and or administrative experience. Familiarity with NCCN guidelines and performing phlebotomy, conducting spirometry tests and EKGs. Bilingual Spanish.
Brief Description of Duties: The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for the following duties:
Special Notes: This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. *This position is primarily located at the Satellite Office in Islandia, NY. Some travel may be required between other clinical sites.
Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements: Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook University's Employee Health Services (The hiring department will responsible for any fee incurred for examination), submit (3) written references, and provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s). Please be advised that failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
