Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. One year of full time experience developing and programming dynamic websites with custom designs, accessing relational databases, and server side programming. Experience with SQL, CSS, HTML, and database tools. Knowledge and experience in at least one object-oriented language (e.g. Java, Ruby, Python, .Net). Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Coldfusion Markup Language, Coldfusion Server, Ruby on Rails or Python, Ajax libraries, Adobe Flex, or other tools for creating applications with a rich-based interface, and Extreme (Agile) programming. Familiarity with HTML5/Javascript and open source. Familiarity with RDF and semantic web tools. Knowledge of Drupal and Content Management Systems. Experience in an academic/research oriented environment.

Brief Description of Duties: The Programmer/Project Analyst will be responsible for:
  • Programming for Medical Informatics in support of academic, instructional and research development projects within the HSC. This will include the design, implementation and maintenance of web pages, enhancement of the appearance of images and other graphics on web pages and testing and documentation of applications, including but not limited to, the curriculum database (CBase), web to database access and ePortfolio.
  • Providing programming support for interactive web database applications, assist with coding, testing and documenting applications being developed in the areas of instruction, Clinical Informatics and research and development.
  • Project management: consultation with clients, determination of the nature of programming requests, identification and development of interface, development of timeline, and where necessary, coordination of the distribution of collaborative efforts. Serve as liaison between Medical Informatics and client, and respond to changing needs and/or direction.
  • Assist with the preparation of training materials and with maintenance of related web pages and forums for instructional computing classes and projects.

Special Notes: This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
