Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Linguistics to be completed by September 2010. Active research program in Sociolinguistics or closely related field. Evidence of the ability to teach a range of courses in Sociolinguistics at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong publication record in Sociolinguistics or other areas of linguistics. Active research interests in fields complementary to Department's strengths in linguistic theory. Ability to teach courses in Bilingualism and a range of undergraduate courses in Linguistics. Linguistic teaching experience on the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate experimental or computational research projects in Linguistics. Potential to obtain external funding for research in the field.

Responsibilities & Requirements: Conduct and maintain an active research program and teach courses in Sociolinguistics, related areas and general Linguistics.

Special Notes: This is a tenure track position. Anticipated start date: September 1, 2010. **Applications for this position will be considered until 01/08/2010.
