In lieu of degree, four years of directly related full time experience, or a combination of higher education and experience totaling four years may be considered. Two years of extensive full time technical audio/visual experience, including PHP based scripting and automation. Demonstrated ability in one or more of the following: PHP, MySQL, and IT skills. Ability to do physical labor such as moving midsized equipment and furniture.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Facility Management. Additional years of facility/events management experience to include extensive technical audio/visual experience. Experience in a research or academic setting. Ability to communicate effectively with faculty and all levels of management. Experience using and programming a Creston system.
Brief Description of Duties: The primary goal of the IT and Audio/Video Coordinator for the Simons Center is to oversee the smooth operation of the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics facility including all audio visual activities of the Center. The IT and Audio/Video Coordinator for the Simons Center will provide technical audio-visual support to the faculty and staff of the SCGP, which includes video recording of lectures during several large workshops and conferences throughout the year and preparing video for web broadcast. The SCGP building is LEED certified with specialized equipment and requires support of the day to day operation of the faculty and staff. Responsibilities include monitoring building management systems and addressing any issues or failures with the Center's Building Manager/Head of IT.
Special Notes: This is a full time appointment, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Night and weekend work is required. Travel may be required to contractors, vendor sites. **Applicants will be given priority before 10/05/2012 but applications will be considered until the position is filled.
