Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Astronomy or related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with spectroscopy of ultra-cool objects or with the analysis and modeling of circumstellar disks.

Brief Description of Duties: Assist with Professor Metchev's on-going research by taking a major role in the observational and data analysis aspects of studies of substellar objects and planet-forming disks.
  • Lead analysis of Spitzer, Hubble, and/or SDSS/2MASS data, resulting in at least one lead-author paper per year in the fields of substellar objects or planet formation in collaboration with Professor Metchev's research group.
  • Pursue independent research in the fields of star and planet formation, leading to additional refereed publications.
  • Work with graduate students on related projects.
  • Organize and participate in group meetings and discussions.

Special Notes: This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. **Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
