Required Qualifications: High School diploma/GED. Experience or training working with children in an early childhood setting.
Preferred Qualifications:

Brief Description of Duties: The incumbent will assist teachers at the Stony Brook Child Care Center.

Assist teachers with child care responsibilities in groups of preschoolers or infants/toddlers.
Assist the teachers in providing routine daily child care to meet the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of young children during activities and projects, including outdoor play times, meal times, rest times and with self help skills.
Assist the teachers in promoting a positive environment that respects the needs and rights of children, encourages cooperation, acquire social skills, and foster independence.
Participate in daily and weekly work chores as necessary to maintain a neat, attractive and efficient environment for young children.

Other Duties:

Special Notes: These are part time, hourly positions, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., days and hours vary. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Some evenings will be required. **Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
