Governor David A. Paterson has directed that flags on New York State government buildings be flown at half-staff on Monday, November 9, 2009, in honor of Trooper David Lane, a four-year member of the New York State Police who served his community and his State with distinction.

Trooper Lane was based in Catskill and was a member of Troop F in Middletown. Prior to joining the New York State Police, he served in the U.S. Army's C Company, 307th Engineer Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, N.C., and spent tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
