The University Senate is the local official body for campus governance composed of elected faculty, professional staff and student representatives. The Executive Committee and Senate standing committees, including the Undergraduate Council, Graduate Council and School of Professional Development Council provide leadership for the University Senate. The University Senate approves academic programs, rules and procedures in the name of the faculty and makes recommendations on these and other matters to the Campus administration. The College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and the School of Medicine also have internal governing structures.
