408.00 Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center



The Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center, a National Historic Landmark, occupies the former home and studio of Abstract Expressionist painters Jackson Pollock (1912 - 1956) and Lee Krasner ( 1908 -1984).


The property, located in The Springs section of East Hampton, is owned by the Stony Brook Foundation and administered through the Art Department. Guided tours of the site are offered by appointment from May through October. The admission fee is waived for all members of the University community. In addition to offering a seasonal program of lectures and exhibitions the museum houses an art reference library, oral history collection, and a documentary archive of material on Pollock, Krasner, their contemporaries, and the artists’ community of Eastern Long Island. The museum’s research collections are open to students, scholars, and the general public year round by appointment.
