Departments may offer Student Assistant and Work/Study positions through SOLAR System: Student Employment. Access is provided to this function through the Office of Student Financial Aid Services. Training is required to assure that the hiring department is thoroughly familiar with the hiring and payroll policies and procedures.

The Faculty-Student Association (FSA) operates an array of auxiliary business services and programs for the campus, such as dining, bookstores, and the Off-Campus Housing office. FSA employs close to 500 students in a wide range of capacities.

Research Aides/Senior Research Aides are hired in academic or clinical areas directly by Project Directors in accordance with project funding allocations through the Research Foundation of SUNY.
