Podcasting

A Podcast is a method to deliver content - mostly audio and/or video. The podcast is subscribed to and the content is delivered in a way that makes it accessable even when not at a computer. Podcasts can be open to the public or can be limited to classes and/or groups. Links to podcasts can also be posted inside existing Blackboard classes. Podcasting is not a streaming solution, and the content is downloaded.  Faculty and students should have iTunes and Quicktime

Streaming Video and Audio

Streaming Video and Audio is a method of content delivery that allows the user to start watching or listening to the content without having to wait for the entire download to complete. TL+T provides both archived and live streams using Quicktime Streaming Server.  It is typically used for special events, such as conferences or Stony Brook Council meetings.  Please note that live streams require staffing and therefore streaming for events not directly related to classroom activities, may incur fees.
