Official Events- professional groups and organizations as well as individual employees may shedule meetings, conferences, and seminars through the Office of Conferences and Special Events.

Personal Events-Traditionally, social or religious events of a personal nature are not permitted on campus. Departmental events are permitted, subject to campus policies. Contact the Office of the Vice President for Administration

Fund Raising Events- Approval is required for any fund raising activities involving SBU. In general, NYS law prohibits unauthorized solicitations on State property. See Policy P700: Fund Raising and Solicitation on Campus.

Political Events- Politicians as Guest Lecturers: Partisan political organizations must be treated equally in their access to campus facilities. An instructor may invite a visiting speaker to class, but may not claim as a right the privilege of including material that has no relationship to their subject.

Wine and beer may be served only by the University food services caterer or by a private caterer in compliance with applicable state, local and campus laws, rules and regulations. When alcoholic beverages are served, a variety and quantity of food and non-alcoholic beverages must also be served. Compliance with campus alcohol policy is required.
