The logo of Stony Brook University should appear prominently on all official publications of the University and its departments, offices, and divisions. Faculty and staff members should use University stationery for official business, but not for personal business or in any instance that might imply University endorsement of a publication, announcement, political candidate or viewpoint, or commercial product. The University name may not be used for personal, organizational, political, or commercial gain. Questions regarding the use of the logo and official stationery may be directed to the Office of Communications. The circular seal of the State University of New York at Stony Brook is reserved for formal documents, such as certificates, commencement materials, and invitations.
