703.00 Representation and Collective Bargaining Agreements

Terms and conditions of employment, job security, compensation, disciplinary and grievance procedures are the major components of the contractual agreements made between the State of New York and the bargaining units.

Employees, except those designated as Management/ Confidential (M/C) and Research Foundation employees, are represented by one of several bargaining units on Campus including: Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA), United University Professions, Inc.(UUP), Public Employees Federation (PEF), Council 82, NYS Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Assocation, Inc. (NYSCOPBA), and Graduate Student Employees Union (GSEU).

Union Dues/Agency Shop Fees: Employees appointed to titles covered under a collective bargaining agreement are required to pay union dues. Employees appointed to titles covered under a collective bargaining agreement, but who elect not to join the union for services provided are required to pay an Agency shop fee (a fee equal to union dues).
