All members of SBU campuses are encouraged to participate in volunteer opportunities and community service both on Campus and in the extended community.

Many individuals volunteer as consultants to every level of government and to industry; are elected to local school boards; actively participate in various interest groups providing lectures in specific areas of expertise; or represent SBU on committees formed for service projects and community events.
