810.00 Sabbatical Leaves

Sabbatical Leaves provide paid opportunities for tenured Faculty to engage in academic research and development for a year to increase scholarly achievement and service to the University. The faculty member has an explicit obligation to return to his or her position upon return.

Department Chairs forward the Sabbatical Leave Request with an accompanying recommendation to the appropriate Dean for approval. When the Provost or the designated Vice President endorses this request it is forwarded to the President for final approval.
