811.00 Service to the Institution

Faculty and professional staff provide additional service to the University in a variety of ways including membership on standing committees, ad hoc committees, search committees, and task forces. Service for Campus governance includes support for the University Senate, Arts & Sciences Senate, and School of Medicine Faculty Senate

Faculty members are called upon to assist in the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students. They also serve as members of Ph.D. committees, outside readers of undergraduate honors papers, and supervisors of students working on specific projects.
