A panel of judges from Stony Brook University’s English Department has declared David Lowry Pressly, a junior at the University of Georgia, the winner of the 2005 Short Fiction Prize for his story titled “U.”
Mr. Pressly’s story topped nearly one hundred entries from undergraduate writers across America and Canada. Mr. Pressly will travel to the Stony Brook campus this Fall to give a reading of his story and accept his $1000 prize. The Short Fiction Prize is in its fifteenth year and is funded by an anonymous donor.
