Long Island Japanese Association (LIJA) (to LIJA-JCSB site)

The Japan Center at Stony Brook has a close relationship with the Long Island Japanese Association (LIJA) for various events, including the New Year's Celebration Gala, Annual Meeting, and Sakura Matsuri.

Community Outreach Program in partnership with the Ryu Shu Kan of Farmingville:

The Japan Center at Stony Brook holds a partnership with Ryu Shu Kan for promotion of community outreach programs including Japanese culture and martial arts. The highly reputed Taiko drum ("Ryushu Daiko") Group has been performing widely in Long Island and NYC.

Chanoyu-no Kai (Tea Ceremony Club)
Chanoyu-no Kai (tea ceremony club) was organized in 2002 with the group of people who demonstrated the art of tea ceremony at the Autumn Festival (Aki Matsuri) at Stony Brook University. The group meets regularly for rehearsals at a club member's private house. This club members have been giving demonstrations at the local schools upon request as well as at the Spring Festivals organized by Ryu Shu Kan - Spring Festival ("Sakura Matsuri") is held at the Charles B. Wang Center as a community outreach program of the Japan Center from 2007.
