This program introduces kids to the exciting world of music performance and study, with singing, dancing, and playing in a curriculum based in Dalcroze Eurythmics.

Dalcroze Eurhythmics (Grades 3-5)
In Dalcroze Eurhythmics classes, students experience music through games and exercises that allow them to use physical movement as they learn the basics of pitch, rhythm and notation. By developing their musicianship - the ability to hear, think, read and feel music more deeply - they are able to approach their instruments with new understanding and skill. The idea that students experience music physically before they wrestle with symbols and theoretical abstraction is at the heart of Dalcroze work.

Children’s Choir (Grades 3 to 5)
The Children’s Choir is both a vocal performance and music study program. Students participate in a weekly vocal ensemble rehearsal followed by an advanced Dalcroze Eurhythmics class.
Two hours/week. Directed by Rachel Neway and Dorothea Cook. (28 sessions/Saturday mornings)

Applications for Fall 2009 are being accepted now until September 1, 2009.  Class sizes are limited, so students are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Class Calendar
All classes meet for a full academic year (28 weeks, plus an added "Snow Day" in case the university is closed due to adverse weather conditions. Classes begin Saturday, September 26.
