The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra is composed primarily of professional musicians who come from all over the world to pursue advanced studies with the university's prestigious Artists-in-Residence. Concerts are presented on the Main Stage.

Program: Brahms, Piano Concerto No. 2 with Mei Rui, soloist (Concerto Competition Winner); Stravinsky, Petrouchka (complete). Conducted by George Manahan. Tickets $20/$10

Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra
Program: Strauss, Serenade for winds, op. 7; Barber Violin Concerto with Iryna Krechkovsky, soloist (Concerto Competition Winner); Tchaikovsky, Rococo Variations; Schoenberg, Verklärte Nacht (string orchestra version, revised in 1943). Orpheus-style concert, to be led by Colin Carr and Alan Kay. Tickets $20/$10
