Wednesday, October 24 Find a Composer Recital, 8:00 pm These recitals feature works by composers who have written new music for students in the world-renowned Stony Brook performance program. Sunday, November 4 Computer Music, 7:00 pm Guest composers and performers showcase the latest in sonic technology and sound manipulation software and hardware, with real-time electronic performance and fixed media. Thursday, November 8 Premieres! Concert, 8:00 pm Created by composer John Lessard in 1986, the Premieres! series has commissioned works by a wide array of composers from the Americas in the last 20 years. This concert features selected works from past commissions and the premiere of composer Sheila Silver’s “Twilight’s Last Gleaming” for two pianos and percussion. Thursday, December 6 Stony Brook Composers Concert, 8:00 pm Contemporary chamber works composed and performed by Stony Brook students and featuring special guest performers.
