UNIVERSITY ORCHESTRA SUSAN DEAVER, MUSIC DIRECTOR AUDITIONS FOR THE UNIVERSITY ORCHESTRA Auditions for the University Orchestra are held on the first Tuesday of each semester. Openings for strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion - undergraduate music majors & minors, and qualified non-music majors on the undergraduate and graduate level at Stony Brook University. Openings may exist for gifted High School & USB Pre-college students. For the audition please bring two short contrasting excerpts from a solo or concerto of your choice. The University Orchestra (MUS262) rehearses weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in 0111 Staller, and presents a series of concerts at Staller Center each semester. University Orchestra at Stony Brook University Presents Concert on November 17 at Staller Center University Orchestra – Susan Deaver, conductor Tuesday, November 17 at 8 p.m. Staller Center for the Arts, Main Stage, Stony Brook University Tickets are Adults - $10 & Children & Seniors $5 (on sale at the Staller Center Box Office 631.632.ARTS) The University Orchestra will present a concert on Tuesday, November 17 at Staller Center at 8 p.m. under the direction of conductor Susan Deaver. Featured music is Antonin Dvorak: Carnival Overture, Carlos Chavez: Sinfonia India and Gustav Holst: The Planets (Mars, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter) Select members of the University Orchestra will also perform C.P.E. Bach: Sinfonie in D Major. | |
