Auditions for the University Orchestra
Auditions for the University Orchestra (MUS 262) will be held for strings, woodwinds and brass on Tuesday, January 27 in 2342 Staller. Interested students should prepare two short contrasting sections of a solo piece, concerto or orchestral excerpt to demonstrate their musical and technical skills. The University Orchestra rehearses Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in 0111 Staller. Concerts will be held in March and May at Staller Center. Music and qualified non-music majors are eligible for participation in the University Orchestra. To schedule an audition, please contact Susan Deaver, conductor, at sdeaver@notes.cc.sunysb.edu. Additional auditions for existing openings will be held on Tuesday, February 3.

Children's Concert - The Magical Musical Zoo!
Bring your favorite stuffed animal and enjoy this one-hour concert with family and friends as the University Orchestra with conductor Susan Deaver takes you on a musical adventure through the orchestra! You’ll be able to listen to the brass, woodwinds, strings and percussion as they perform music from around the world. The concert will also feature the Winner of the 2008 USB Pre-College Concerto Competition.
