University Choral Ensembles Timothy Mount, Director of Choral Music ![]() 2008-2009 Concert Season Tickets: $10/ Students and Seniors $5 (unless otherwise noted) The STONY BROOK CHORAL PROGRAM consists of two choirs, Chorale and the Camerata Singers. Both are open to students, faculty, staff, as well as singers from the community. The ability to read music is required and members of the Camerata Singers should be excellent sight-readers with extensive choral experience. Auditions for Chorale will be the first Monday of every semester at 7:15 in room 0113 of the Music Dept. Auditions for Camerata are by appointment. Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and Chorus Program: Mendelssohn, Elijah, one of the most beloved oratorios of all time. World class soloists include Grammy Award winning Christine Goerke. Timothy Mount conducts the Stony Brook Chorale, Camerata Singers, and the Long Island Symphonic Choral Association in his final concert on the Main Stage before retirement. Free pre-concert lecture with Mark Lederway at 7:00pm. Tickets: $20/$10 Friday, December 12, 2008, 8:00pm, RH, $ Stony Brook Camerata and the Long Island Gay Men's Chorus Music from the Baltic region, including Cyrillus Kreek's Psalms of David and works by Krzysztof Penderecki. Also, smaller works for vocal soloists conducted by Jeffrey Francom. Also featuring the premiere performance of the Long Island Gay Men's Chorus. Tickets $10/$5 Sunday, December 14, 2008, 3:00pm RH Annual Messiah Sing-Along The seasonal tradition at Stony Brook will feature the University Orchestra, guest soloists, and conductors in a performance of Handel’s Messiah. Scores will be available for purchase at the door. Choruses from Part One, Worthy is the Lamb/Amen, and, of course, the Hallelujah Chorus will all be sung by the audience!
