Scholarships & Auditions

Applications for auditions for entry to the Music Department for Fall 2008 are now available. The auditions for pianists and singers will take place on Tuesday, February 12, and for all other instrumentalists on Thursday, February 14. The Music Department application is due on January 15, 2008. For applications, please contact Perry Goldstein, pgoldstein@notes.cc.sunysb.edu or call (631) 632-7345. Please note that students applying to become music majors must also apply to the university. On the audition day, students will take rudimentary exams in music theory and musicianship, and audition. Entry to the music majors will be determined on the basis of the audition and the exams.

Undergraduate Musicianship Placement Examination

The Undergraduate Musicianship Exam tests rudimentary skills in music theory and musicianship (ear-training). Students intending to major in music must take the exam. For additional information, please contact Undergraduate Studies Director Perry Goldstein at pgoldstein@notes.cc.sunysb.edu.
