Study Center

Established to promote scholarship in 20th century American art, the Center houses a growing art reference library that includes the documents and catalogues of artists, biographers, critics and collectors who witnessed the birth of Abstract Expressionism. Special attention is given to artists who lived and worked on Long Island's East End.

An oral history collection of audio and video tapes also documents the roots of modern American art. The Center oversees an on-going project of collecting first-hand accounts by Pollock and Krasner colleagues and contemporaries that are available for public and scholarly auditing/viewing. A residency program for scholars is available by written application.

The art reference library, documentary archives, and oral history collection are open, by appointment, year round.

Educational Programs
The Center sponsors an annual program of lectures and courses on 20th century American art and culture, and changing art exhibitions. A schedule of activities is available from the Center on request.

Special programs for classes are available at the Center, including guided tours and on-site presentations. Printed materials for classroom use are available. Arrangements must be made in advance.
