Pollock-Krasner houseThe House
Built in 1879, for a fisherman's family, the house remains much as Krasner left it. The two artists made many changes to the interior, which contains prints by both artists, their furniture, Pollock's hi-fi sound system, hundreds of jazz records and the artists' personal library.
The Studio
The StudioJackson Pollock painted the works for which he is best known in his East Hampton studio between 1946 and his death. Central to the exhibition is Pollock's paint-laden studio floor. Visitors, wearing special padded slippers, are invited to walk across this vivid testament to the artist's energy and inspiration.
Interior of the studioA converted barn, the modest building now contains a documentary photo-essay which chronicles Pollock's evolution as an artist and details his working methods. Lee Krasner's career is also discussed. Many of the photographs in the exhibition are shown here for the first time - some by Hans Namuth and Arnold Newman, others drawn from the Pollock-Krasner family archive. Both artists' working materials are on display.
