2. TIAA-CREF Individual Counseling Sessions
A representative from TIAA-CREF will be available to meet with hospital and LISVH state employees, (by appointment), to discuss the benefits of having a tax-deferred annuity and to answer questions regarding an existing tax-deferred annuity or Optional Retirement Program account. 3. Time to renew library material
Faculty, Management Confidential and Professional staff who currently have borrowed library material from the Main, Music and Science/Engineering Library, with a due date of Dec. 22, 2006 are urged to renew at this time. The new due date, after properly renewing, will be May 15, 2007.

Cold Spring Harbor Protocols is a definitive, interactive source of new and classic research techniques. The database is fully searchable by keyword and subject, and it has many novel features such as discussion forums and personal folders made possible by online publication. Its coverage includes cell and molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, protein science, and imaging. Protocols are presented step-by-step and edited in the style that has made Molecular Cloning, Antibodies, Cells and many other CSH manuals essential to the work of scientists worldwide. Protocols will be continuously expanded, updated, and annotated by the originators and users of the techniques. Cold Spring Harbor Protocols can be accessed directly from the Databases list of the Health Sciences Library Website. 2. Holiday Baseball Camps - Stony Brook University Baseball Camps For Grades 2-12 On Dec 27-30,2006.
The camp will be held at Stony Brook University Sports complex. The outstanding indoor facilities allow for expert instruction in hitting, pitching, fielding and base running.
Campers in grades 2-6 will participate in the junior session 9am-12pm while campers in grade 7-12 will workout from 12:30pm-3:30pm in the senior session.

5. "Guitar monster" Brooks Williams to play The University Cafe, Sunday, December 10th, at 2 P.M.
Brooks Williams has been described as "a fret monster who has to be seen to be believed." His musical vision spans continents and genres, blues,jazz, slide, fingerstyle, with funky chords, walking bass lines and fiery riffs. Dirty Linen magazine calls him one of "America's musical treasures."
His new CD, Blues and Ballads, finds Williams revisiting his roots with an assortment of his favorites, including works of Blind Boy Fuller, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Bruce Cockburn.
Russ Seeger, who impressed the audience at The University Caf's Bob Dylan song-night this May, opens.

A NYSUT sponsored Defensive Driving program is being offered on Saturday, January 13, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM in the Wang Center Room 201, for all UUP employees and their immediate family members.
Cost is $25 per person. Checks should be made payable to "NYSUT Benefit Trust" and delivered to the UUP office, 104 Old Chemistry, Z=3475. Office hours are Monday thru Friday, 9 am to 3 pm. Receipt of your check reserves your place in class.

5. Stress: A Fact Of Life
Do you know that stress can affect the brain, heart, hormones, and mental performance?
Did you ever wonder why some people get stressed out more easliy than others?
We are looking for men and women, 18-50 years of age, to participate in a non-invasive study.
Participation in this protocol requires that volunteers be free on two consecutive week-days including two hospital overnights, for example: Sunday night to Tuesday afternoon, or Tuesday night to Thursday afternoon. You will be free to pursue to your normal activities after 4:15pm, but you will need to be back for the overnight stay.
Compensation: $200.00
