1. Campus Dining Services Catering Requests
Request for catering services by Campus Dining Services requires the issuance of a purchase order by the Procurement Office as well as the guaranteed number of guests five (5) days prior to the event date. In order for the Procurement Office to issue a purchase order campus departments must contact Campus Dining Services to request catering service for their event. Upon Campus Dining Services' confirmation, an event sheet detailing the catering service will be provided to your department. This event sheet must be submitted to the Procurement Office along with a purchase requisition payable to Lackmann Culinary Service, Inc. with the required supporting documentation listed below:
- Justification for food/catering service event
- List of attendees
- Copy of event flyer/announcement

1. The Pollock-Krasner House presents "The Day on Which a Man Dies," by Tennessee Williams, August 7-9
In conjunction with the exhibition, "'Under Each Other's Spell': Gutai and New York," on view at the Pollock-Krasner House in East Hampton, the museum is presenting a little-known play by Tennessee Williams that echoes the practices of the Japanese artists who called themselves the Gutai. As in Gutai works, the bodies of the performers are painted, and the setting is made of paper.
August 7 and 8 at 8:00 p.m., August 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the Ross School, 18 Goodfriend Drive in East Hampton.

4. Origami Heaven Festival
In addition to the eye-popping exhibition in room 201, this family-friendly festival features teaching tables staffed by Long Island Folding Enthusiasts members to present to you and your children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews origami, a puppet portal, storigami (telling stories with origami), a greeting card workshop, and a Japanese Tea ceremony. Sponsored by the Wang Center and Long Island Folding Enthusiasts. Co-Sponsored with the Japan Center of Stony Brook.
Everything is free and open to the public. Suggested $5 donation for the Origami Heaven Festival.

7. Sunday Street Acoustic Series at The University Cafe announces line-up of Fall concerts
We will begin our sixth season presenting national and international recording artists in the listening room setting of The University Cafe on Sunday, September 27th. The schedule is on the website at www.universitycafe.org.
Look for some first-time performers at the Cafe, like DaisyCutter, Dala, Ana Egge, and welcome back Cafe favorites John Wesley Harding, Ellis Paul, and Rod Picott. Also, some "legendary figures" on the music scene from the seventies and eighties on --- Buskin & Batteau, Willie Nile, and Elliott Murphy --- will be part of our line-up.

SchoolPlus Enrichment Program offers Mathematics for 5-15 years olds (10 levels); Physics for 10-15 y.o. (3 levels); Art for 6-15 y.o., Languages: French - 6 levels; English advanced; and Russian for all levels, including Russian as a foreign language. We also offer the enrichment program for children 3-5 y.o.
Classes held on Sundays at Stony Brook University. Teachers include the leading specialists from Stony Brook University and Brookhaven National Lab.

4. Allergy Diagnostic Unit Opens August 3, 2009 at 26 Research Way
The Allergy Diagnostic Unit opens August 3, 2009 at 26 Research Way. Physicians may call 444-0580 to request consultation and evaluation of their patients.
Specialized testing includes multi-test allergy skin prick testing (8 antigens with one prick), impedance oscillometry (next generation spirometry to measure small airwyas function and response to bronchodilator), and exhaled breath condensate nitric oxide (noninvasive measure of airway inflammation).

In conjunction with the Origami Heaven Festival this week, the Wang Center Gift Shop offers a wide variety of origami folding materials for adults and children, from beginner to advanced.
The shop will have extended hours for the Festival on Tuesday, Aug. 4: from 10:45am - 4:15pm.
Regular summer hours on Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: 12 noon - 4pm.
