PDAR is a Lotus Notes application that assists and facilitates the job creation, review, approval, posting and advertisement requisition process. This electronic format eliminates five paper forms (SUSB37, Position Description, Ad Request, Ad Text and the first page of the SUSB68).After completing this interactive computer based training class, participants will be able to:
-Create and clone job requisitions/PDARs
-Create waiver forms
-Create advertisement requests
-Understand the uses of reclassification, promotion, increased duties, FAST TRACK

2. Newfield High School Walk-a-Thon to Benefit the Sunrise Fund
On Saturday, May 30, 2009 the National Honor Society at Newfield High School is holding a walk-a-thon to benefit the Sunrise Fund. The registration fees are $10/adults, $5/children and $25/family and will begin at 12 noon. The opening ceremony and the start of the walk will begin at 12:45 pm. SBCC will be hosting a Long Island Blood Services Busmobile Blood Drive on Wednesday, June 3rd from 11:30am - 4:45pm. Eligibility Criteria: bring I.D. with signature or photo, minimum weight 110 lbs., age 16-75 (16 years old must have parental permission, age 76 and over need doctor's note). 1. Campus Recreation Summer Softball League
The Department of Campus Recreation Coed Summer Softball League is now taking registration. Early-bird registration deadline is Friday May 29th (cost $175.00) If you register after May 29th the cost will be $225.00, and the final day to register your team is Thursday June 4th. League will run from June 9th Aug. 18th. Games will be played at 5:30pm & 6:45pm on Tues &/or Thurs nights. Teams will consist of at least nine people (4 women minimum) on the field at all times. 2. Stony Brook University Girls Basketball Camp!
Stony brook universty girls basketball camp!
This camp offers the opportunity to grow as a player through individual instruction and team interaction. Campers have the opportunity to be guided by current Stony Brook Women’s Basketball players and coaches. The camp is geared towards girls ages 8-15 and will be held in the Arena on Stony Brook’s campus from June 29-July 2. The price is $250 per camper however there is a 10 percent Stony Brook Employee discount. This is an amazing opportunity for players in the community to interact and get to know what Stony Brook Basketball is all about! Don’t miss YOUR chance!

Beginners to intermediate levels receive a good foundation in the methods of throwing on the potter’s wheel while making a variety of forms. Glaze and surface design will be demonstrated. 3. Knitting and Beaded Jewelry Making Classes
Learn how to create your own handmade jewelry in the Beaded Jewelry Workshop! This course will cover how to crimp, string, fasten findings and select materials used in beaded jewelry. 2. Treatment Study for Behavioral Control Problems for Boys and Girls
Children 6 to 12 Years Old Stony Brook University’s Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is conducting a study supported by the National Institute of Health of treatment steps for children, ages 6 12, who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and other behavioral control problems such as aggressiveness, explosiveness and low frustration tolerance. Eligible children receive free evaluation and study treatment, including medication and help with behavioral support strategies.

3. Do You Have Heart Failure?
Adults diagnosed with heart failure are invited to participate in a symptom monitoring study. The study is testing an educational method to help patients monitor their heart failure symptoms. If qualified to participate, questionnaires about your medical history, symptoms, self-care, and quality of life will be completed. Participants are followed for one year by telephone (15-20 minute interviews 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after enrollment). All participants will be given a weight scale to keep and a booklet on heart failure self-care. You will be paid $20 at both 6 and 12 months if you complete the telephone interviews. 6. Does Your Child Have ADHD And Severe Problems With Aggression?
Researchers at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at SUNY Stony Brook are conducting a study of children with ADHD and severe problems with aggressive behavior. Children will receive a thorough diagnostic evaluation, and treatment with one or two medications. Parents will receive nine weeks of parent training. 7. Volunteers Needed for a Gastrointestinal Symptoms Study!
We are seeking patients diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease or Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
We are conducting a study to gather detailed information about how life experiences impact gastrointestinal symptoms.
What you can do to help:
To qualify you should be diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. You must be able to come to the research office at Stony Brook 1 time for a 3 hour period and be available for 2 telephone interviews following your study visit. Scheduling will be done at convenient times for you.
