beginning July 23rd we will become participating providers for
DAVIS VISION.

1. Golf Outing - Monday, August 20th
On Monday, August 20th, the Brookhaven Chapter of UNICO National,
supporters of the Center for Italian Studies at SBU, is hosting
its 20th Annual Golf Outing at the Port Jefferson Country Club at
Harbor Hills, 44 Fairway Drive, Port Jefferson, New York.
Participation is limited to 140 golfers. The full day schedule
of events begins between 8:30 am - 10:00 am with a check in and
breakfast, shotgun start at 10:00 am, BBQ lunch at the ninth
hole, and 5:00 pm cocktail hour followed by dinner. Awards,
Prizes and Raffles! Single entrant $195, if paid by July 20th,
$185. Tee Sponorship $100.
Proceeds help support the Center for Italian Studies at SBU.

2. New Child Care Center Opening in Fall 2001
A unique Kindergarten experience:Stony Brook Child Care Services,
the nationally accredited Child Care Center on campus will open
its new Center this Fall and is now offering Kindergarten, with
before & after care, for the first time. A limited number of
child care openings for 2,3 and 4 year olds are also available.
Center is open Monday-Friday, various shifts:
6:30am-4:30pm, 7am-5pm, 7:30-5:30,8am-6pm. Call 632-6930 for
rates and details.

3. Farewell to Benedict, Toscanini, Early Childhood and Clark
Child Care Centers!
The four centers of Stony Brook Child Care Services will be
moving out of their current locations on Daniel Webster Drive in
August 2001. If your family was a part of these centers at any
time in their 30 year history, or if you know of someone else who
was, watch these announcements over the next few weeks for the
announcement of a GIANT FAREWELL POTLUCK to be held in the middle
of August. For more information about the potluck or the new

4. Seawolves/Charles Gordon Heuser Memorial Golf Classic

Seawolves/Charles Gordon Heuser Memorial Golf Classic ? Monday,
July 30, 2001
Come join the athletic department for a beautiful day of golf,
food and fun at the 6th Annual Seawolves/Charles Gordon Heuser
Memorial Golf Classic presented by Coca-Cola. The Outing with
the blessing of Coca-Cola has been renamed the Charles Gordon
Heuser Memorial Golf Classic. This dedication is designed to
serve as a lasting tribute to Charles. Charles, is a cherished
member of the Universities family and son of Dr. Denise
Logan-Heuser (Class of 1977) and her husband Dr. David Heuser.
Golfing and sponsorship opportunities are still available. The
success of the outing depends upon participants and sponsorship
to help under-write the cost of the day?s events. All proceeds
from the outing will benefit the Charles Gordon Heuser Endowment
fund and the Athletic General Scholarship Fund.

5. Jewelry sale to benefit Sylvia Fund!
On three Wednesdays this summer:
July 18
August 1
August 15
from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
you'll have the opportunity to buy some unique jewelry creations
in the Administration Building lobby, while helping Stony Brook
students with disabilities. A percentage of the sales of
specified items will be donated to the Sylvia Fund, which grants
awards to students with disabilities. Notecards designed by
Sylvia Geoghegan will also be on sale.

6. The Department of Ophthalmology is pleased to announce that

DAVIS VISION.
The Department of Ophthalmology is pleased to announce that
beginning July 23rd we will become participating providers for
DAVIS VISION. As such the department will be providing routine
eye exams and vision care including contact lenses which members
of PEF, MC, UUP, CSEA, RESEARCH FOUNDATION are entitled to.
DAVIS VISION will be opening a satellite location as well at 33
Research Way for the fitting and dispensing of glasses. Nancy
Kwon,OD, on our full time staff, will be available for all
eyeglass,contact lens and routine eye exams.
