1. Golf Outing - Monday, August 20th
On Monday, August 20th, the Brookhaven Chapter of UNICO National,
supporters of the Center for Italian Studies at SBU, is hosting
its 20th Annual Golf Outing at the Port Jefferson Country Club at
Harbor Hills, 44 Fairway Drive, Port Jefferson, New York.
Participation is limited to 140 golfers. The full day schedule
of events begins between 8:30 am - 10:00 am with a check in and
breakfast, shotgun start at 10:00 am, BBQ lunch at the ninth
hole, and 5:00 pm cocktail hour followed by dinner. Awards,
Prizes and Raffles! Single entrant $195, if paid by July 20th,
$185. Tee Sponorship $100.
Proceeds help support the Center for Italian Studies at SBU.

2. Session II Summer Classes to Start July 9
IT is not too late to register for Summer Sessions II classes
which strt July 9. Session II continues until August 17 and
students may use the Automated Telephone System to register by
telephone until 11 p.m. July 8. They may register in person
until 3 p.m. Friday, July 6.
Details about courses, schedules, registration, costs, etc. are
in the Summer Sessions Catalog and on the Summer Sesssions Web
site: www.stonybrook.edu/summer Students who need a catalog may
pick one up in any of the following offices: Records/Registrar,
Summer Sessions, School of PRofessional Development (SPD), HSC
Student Services, Admissions, Academic Advising Center, and the
CEAS Undergraduate Office.

3. Procurement Newsletter
The July 2001, edition of the Procurement's Office newsletter,
"Procurement News" is available for viewing at the following
website. This edition includes important Lapsing Funds Dates,
New State Contracts and New Year Staples Business Advantage
information along with useful Travel Reminders and Guidelines for
Reimbursements.

4. New Child Care Center Opening in Fall 2001
A unique Kindergarten experience: Stony Brook Child Care
Services, the nationally accredited Child Care Center on campus
will open its new Center this Fall and is now offering
Kindergarten, with before and after Kindergarten Care, for the
first time. A limited number of child care openings for 3 and 4
year olds are also available. Center is open Monday-Friday,
various shifts:6:30am-4:30pm, 7am-5pm, 7:30am-5:30m,
8am-6pm. Call 632-6930 for rates and details.
