preparations for war. Sponsored by the Group for the Study of
Working Class Life, Sociology Department, and Peace Center.

9. University Bookstore is collecting funds for the American Red
Cross
The University Bookstore is continuing to collect funds for the
American Red Cross World Trade Center disaster relief fund. So
far the collections received at University Bookstore have reached
$950. This is in addition to the 15 large boxes of nonperishable
food and clothing donations that where also received and
forwarded through FSA to the Setauket Fire Department for direct
delivery to ground zero.
Cash donations received through 9/14/01 were dropped off to the
American Red Cross Relief Drive at Smith Haven Mall. Additional
monetary donations will be sent to the American Red Cross, P.O.
Box 745, Yaphank, NY 11980. The University Bookstore will
continue collections for another month. Together Stony Brook

10. International Mail
The U.S. Post Office requires a Customs Declaration Form (CDF) be
affixed to ALL international mail weighing 16 ounces or more.
This includes all classes of Express Mail and Global Priority
Mail. International mail 16 ounces or over without a CDF will be
returned to the sender by the Post Office.
In order to avoid possible complications the Post Office suggests
that a CDF be affixed to all international mail except letter
size pieces. Since, in many cases, the sender is unsure of the
weight of a piece of mail, attaching a CDF to all international
"FLAT" mail assures that it will be handled appropriately.
If you need a Customs Declaration Form or if there are any
questions, please call Mail Services at 2-6231.

11. EAP Lunchtime Learning Workshop - Lunch Included

Limited to 15 participants per workshop
Personal Money Management (Part I & Part II) Through a series of
Action steps, you'll learn ways to organize your finances and
make wise decisions about your financial future. None of the
action steps require any prior expertise or experience with
money. All that's required is your willingness to (1) set some
goals, (2) collect and record information and (3) take one small
step after another to accomplish them. Once you know where you
want to go with your money (your goals) and where you are now
(your records), you'll be ready to plan the future of your
finances.
Must attend both sessions!
Part I: Wednesday, October 3rd, 12-1:30
Part II: Wednesday, October 10th, 12-1:30
Lunch provided: To register please call Denise Gross in T&OD at
632-4501.

12. Access to HSC Library Electronic Resources
Beginning September 24, 2001, both on campus and off campus
access to all web-based licensed databases, electronic books, and
electronic journals offered by the Health Sciences Center Library
will require proper user authentication. Such policies are
required as the cost of access to electronic information
resources continues to increase at a rate that makes it essential
for the Health Sciences Center Library staff to know relative use
of these materials over time. Usage is one of the major factors
in the decision to retain or discontinue the license for each
resource. For more information, see
http://www.hsclib.sunysb.edu/
